Tamworth Family Support Services will unveil a domestic violence memorial in Bicentennial Park next month.
It’ll offer a place for families and friends of victims to reflect, ensuring their loss is never forgotten.
The idea came from a forum held 12 months ago, and it’s believed it’ll be the first of its kind in Australia.
“We wanted to do something that would last, that wasn’t just going to be you know something for that day or that night, something that could last, something that could be meaningful to the community.”
The memorial will be officially opened on May 4, to coincide with National Day of Remembrance.
