WRECKAGE OF MISSING PLANE DISCOVERED
Searchers have discovered the body of a missing pilot on the NSW far north coast, with the wreckage of his ultra light plane located this morning.
The plane was found on a private property around 9am at Limpinwood, about 25-kilometres west of Murwillumbah.
An extensive air and land search has been underway since Tuesday morning, after a member of the public reported witnessing an aircraft in trouble near Limpinwood.
The 72-year-old pilot had taken off from Murwillumbah Airport at around 10am that day.
An operation is now underway to retrieve his body, while an investigation has been launched into the cause of the crash.
