It’s the weekend for Easter egg hunts – and the NRMA is urging Hunter motorists to also be on the lookout for cheap fuel.
Maitland and Newcastle are currently among the top five cheapest places in the state to buy unleaded, with Maitland averaging around $1.15.
But the NRMA says anyone hitting the road for the long weekend should buy as early as possible, as prices are expected to increase.
Fuel costs at key stops on the north and south coast have already gone up.
