Police have arrested a driver who allegedly left the scene of a car crash near Casino, while his five passengers were trapped inside.
The Mitsubishi Magna was travelling on the Bruxner Highway at Piora around 5.30 yesterday when it left the road and hit a tree.
A 24-year-old woman was flown to Lismore base hospital in a serious condition, while the other occupants also needed treatment.
Police say the 26-year-old driver was injured but managed to walk about a kilometre before allegedly stealing a Subaru ute.
