Coffs Harbour’s Resource Recovery Facility is closed, with fire crews monitoring a blaze which sent a pall of acrid black smoke over the city.
It’s not known what caused the fire to erupt in the Biomass facility before noon.
Up to seven Fire and Rescue NSW crews are on the scene.
It is believed the fire has been brought under control, but the situation is still volatile.
