KOOTINGAL’S WAR MEMORIAL SET FOR A MAKEOVER
Kootingal’s War Memorial will get a much needed makeover ahead of this year’s ANZAC Day centenary.
The local Lion’s Club has been looking to update the facility for the past five years.
Today, the organisation was given just over $12,500 from the state government to complete the refurbishments.
“The four plaques with the names listed will be sanded and refurbished, the whole monument will be water blasted back to its original sandstone look and a new floor with a tessellated pavement, etc will be brought up with new material.”
Work is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
