EXPLOSIVE SCENES AS DOUBLE MURDERER GETS 42-YEAR SENTENCE

A man has been sentenced to 42-years behind bars, with a non parole period of 33-years, for murdering his father and stepmother on the Central Coast in 2013.

Corey Breen stabbed his father Paul Breen and his stepmother Felicity Crawford multiple times with a hunting knife, at their Killarney Vale home on Good Friday.

In handing down the sentence in the Supreme Court today, Acting Justice Jane Matthews said severe force was used in the attacks and Breen had expressed pleasure in their aftermath.

The court heard Breen blamed his father, who had a history of gambling and drinking problems, for many things that had gone wrong in his life.

Family members screamed and swore outside court at the sentence.

Breen will be eligible for parole in 2046.
