Five years after tough restrictions were imposed on licensed venues in Newcastle, there are strong signs they’ve delivered a sustained reduction in CBD assaults.
The revelations came during the Newcastle Community Drug Action Team (CDAT) Conference at Town Hall.
It comes despite an increase in venues serving alcohol, which have been predominately small bars and restaurants.
