Sydney golfer David Abbott has come from behind to upstage the frontrunners on the last day of the New South Wales Trainee Championships at Hawks Nest.
Abbott shot a final round two under par 70 to finished the four-day tournament at five under.
Paul Hayden finished two shots further back in second, while fellow Queenslander Matt Stone was third at two under.
There was little joy for the locals, with Charlestown’s Mitch Kelleher ending in a tie for 12th.
