DEFIANT FIRIES

Firefighters who’d been ordered to work from Toronto because their Waratah station will be closed, will defy their superiors, and work in the Waratah area from tonight, bringing their fire truck back with them.

The resolution was passed at a mass meeting of about 80 fire fighters this morning.

Fire Union members were angered after a temporary relocation to Toronto, for about 16 of their members was to become permanent.

No sooner had their meeting finished, firefighters were scrambled to a blaze at Adamstown where an old scout hall, known to be a squat, was badly damaged.
