LENNOX LANDSALE PETITION HANDED TO STATE MP

The fight to stop a parcel of land at Lennox Head being sold to the State Government has reached new heights.

A petition boasting over 1000 signatures is now in the hands of state MP David Shoebridge to present to parliament.

Ballina councillor Jeff Johnson launched the petition, after his notice of motion to stop the sale of the Ross Street property was voted down in council.

“It was a foolish decision by council, they didn’t consult the community, the community have said a resounding no”

“It’s this kind of community pressure, a united voice from a local community, that can force the state government to act, and that’s the voice I’ll be taking to Macquarie Street.”

The petition will also be handed to local MP Don Page.
