Dry conditions around Tamworth have contributed to three fires just off the New England Highway.
The blazes, on Chapmans Road, the Moonbi Range and at the Bendemeer showground, required the attention of eight units.
Backburning was required for Chapmans Road, with crews being requested for patrols tonight.
The smallest fire burnt a hectare, while the largest affected 38 hectares of land.
Investigations into the cause of the fires are continuing.
