WATER USAGE TIGHTENED IN MURRURUNDI

A lack of rain has seen Murrurundi placed under level four water restrictions by the Upper Hunter Council.

It comes after the Pages River stopped flowing in August.

It means new turf and lawns can’t be watered, however, residents can wash their cars on the lawn using a bucket, between 9am and noon.

Council hopes it’s one of the last times the extreme measures will be needed, with a $14 million pipeline to Glenbawn Dam due for completion in 2020.
