A New Lambton home has been badly damaged during a fire overnight.
Just after 10 o’clock neighbours alerted police that smoke was pouring out of a house on Green Street.
The occupants were away on holidays and a cat died after it was rescued from the blaze and another is still missing.
Police are investigating.
