Tamworth Regional Council will receive more than $420,000 in federal funding to deliver training to residents on how best to utilise the National Broadband Network.
The free training is part of the government’s Digital Hub program.
Member for New England Tony Windsor says the move will help secure employment and other opportunities for the district into the future.
NBN fibre is due to be rolled out to almost 20,000 Tamworth premises by mid-2015.
