10 QUESTIONS WITH JOHN MARTIN – Singleton Mayoral Candidate

This is the response from Singleton Mayoral candidate John Martin when asked the 10 questions below.

I have again nominated for council to enable me to continue to work for the Singleton community as a councillor.

Having been involved in local government for many years, I have built up a wealth of knowledge and back ground of the Singleton area and its community. I believe I have a solid understanding of local government, with many years of experience serving on state committees and organizations. I am well known in local government throughout New South Wales.

I have nominated for both mayor and councillor and I believe I am well qualified to serve in either position.

The four year term of elected mayor will have many advantages, such as continuity for that period.

With the mayoral position being contested by seven candidates, preferences will be very important to all, however, it will all rest with the voting community on casting votes.

My two main priorities are –
Planning for a sustainable future long term, short term is to complete projects which are already planned. The refurbish of the CBD main street and solving the traffic problems are important issues.

I have worked for many years in the Singleton community, which has given me great satisfaction by helping other people.

I look forward to be in a position to continue to serve on Singleton Council.
