MINE EMPLOYEE TESTS POSITIVE TO COVID-19
An employee at Idemitsu’s Boggabri Coal has tested positive for COVID-19, prompting the temporary closure of the mine site.
The company was informed by NSW Health on Saturday evening and the man in his 40s immediately isolated on site.
Boggabri Coal is working to ensure any other workers, identified as close contacts, are also in isolation.
The mine site will be closed for at least the next three days as further testing takes place.

The news comes as Hunter New England Health confirms there’s a new case in Armidale.
A female in her teens, who is a family household contact of the two cases announced yesterday.
There are now three active cases in Armidale.
