A North Coast MP is challenging Rob Oakeshott to a series of public debates on the carbon tax.
Federal Member for Cowper Luke Hartsuyker says he’s following up on concerns raised during a recent visit to the Hastings.
“Mr Oakeshott has been silent on the issue, as an independent who was a central architect of this tax, it’s up to him to explain to his electorate why he is doing this. Why would you be driving up the cost of living, taking jobs from young people and causing businesses to close, it’s up to him to explain himself and not to run and hide from the electorate.”
Mr Hartsuyker says the people of the North Coast deserve an explanation on why the carbon tax is good for the region.
Mr Oakeshott is yet to respond.
