SUNDERLAND AND JENNER TO REPRESENT AUSTRALIA IN TOUR DE I’AVENIR

Armidale’s Sam Jenner and Inverell’s Dylan Sunderland will represent Australia this week, as part of the national under-23 team set to contest the Tour de l’Avenir. The event emulates the Tour de France, and is considered a stepping stone to high honours, and could potentially lead to a professional world tour contract. It’s the 55th edition of the tour, with the 10-day event taking riders across France, from Brittany to the Alps. The format is open to men aged 19 to 23. PLEASE NOTE: AUDIO UNAVAILABLE.

TAMWORTH THUNDERBOLTS FACE SEASON ARCH-ENEMY IN SEMI-FINAL

The Tamworth Thunderbolts will have to overcome their 2018 arch-enemy tomorrow, if they’re to advance to Sunday’s division-one grand-final. St George has beaten the Bolts twice this season, most recently in round-18. Tamworth welcomes back Reece Chillingworth for the upcoming match against the Saints, after farewelling Scott McGann during the week. NATIONAL HEAVY VEHICLE REGULATORS IN MOREE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS

The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator will host an information session in Moree next week. They’ll be in town to answer any questions on recent amendments to the Heavy Vehicle National Law, as well as changes to the Chain of Responsibility. The sessions are aimed at haulage companies and heavy vehicle users, particularly those in the agriculture sector. Changes come into effect from October 1. The information session will be held at the Max Centre next Thursday from 12.30pm. NOTE: VISION ONLY
