MAN REFUSED BAIL OVER TAMWORTH ROBBERY

A 33-year-old man has been refused bail, following an alleged armed robbery in South Tamworth earlier this week. Shortly after 4 o’clock on Thursday, a man allegedly entered an electrical store and threatened a staff member, before fleeing with cash. Police arrested a man at a Tamworth cinema last night. MAN CHARGED OVER ALLEGED TAMWORTH ROBBERY

A 33-year-old man is set to face court, charged over an alleged armed robbery at South Tamworth earlier this week. Police will allege a man entered a store on the New England Highway at around 4 o’clock on Thursday afternoon, threatening a staff member before stealing cash. Following inquires, police arrested a 33-year-old at a Tamworth Cinema yesterday evening. He was charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon, and will face court later today.

ARMED ROBBERY IN TAMWORTH

A car believed to be linked to a robbery at an electrical goods store in Tamworth yesterday afternoon has been seized by police. Police were called to The Good Guys at around 4:15pm after a man threatened staff with a knife before stealing cash. The thief is described as having a slim build and was wearing a maroon top with white sleeves and black gloves, however, his face was covered. (NOTE: VISION ONLY)

COUNCIL ASKS FOR COMMUNITY INPUT ON MOREE-SYDNEY FLIGHT SERVICE

Moree Plains Shire Council is hoping to avoid turbulence for the proposed Moree to Sydney route. After an evaluation committee meeting earlier this week, it’s been revealed a number of carriers will be applying to take it on. SUSPICIOUS HOUSE FIRE IN TAMWORTH

A house fire in Tamworth last night is being treated as suspicious. At around 8:30 last night, three fire crews were called to the house in Rawson Avenue, where fire had consumed the front room. One person was in the house at the time, however, they were not injured. Police have set up a crime scene and forensic examiners have been to the property. (NOTE: VISION ONLY)
