COMPETITION FIERCE AT NATIONAL OZ TAG CHAMPIONSHIPS

Thousands of players are vying for a spots on Australia’s representative Oz Tag teams this weekend, during the the 2018 National Senior Championships. Earlier today – the Central Coast maintained its commanding lead in the open men’s division, with a 5-3 win over the East Coast Dolphins. “It was good, fast paced, the boys brought a lot of heat, which was lucky for us but good fast paced game and it was good to get the win.” The victory leaves the defending champions in a strong position to take the title, with one day of play remaining. TENNIS NSW VISITING FORSTER

Representatives from Tennis New South Wales visited Forster today, and they brought with them past trophies from the Sydney International. The 20-19 tournament will begin early next year, ahead of the Australian Open. And Forster tennis players are keen to get involved. (AUDIO IN PARTS)

Surfer Matt Banting has made it into the fourth round of the Vans World Cup in Hawaii. The Port Macquarie product has 13 heat wins to his name, and is shaping up as a fierce contender for the upcoming quarterfinals. With 10,000 points up for grabs, the next round could be a gamechanger. He’s expected to hit the water again at Sunset Beach tomorrow.
