TREE PLANTED TO COMMEMORATE SORRY DAY

Residents and students across the region have taken time to commemorate Sorry Day.

Held on May 26 every year, the day is a reminder of the past government policies, where aboriginal children were forcibly removed from their mothers.

Today students at Oxley Vale Public School marked Sorry Day with a special assembly.

They also held a tree planting ceremony, where a tree was planted in their commemorative garden.
