Possible locations include Kulnura, Peats Ridge and Somersby.

  1. The Somersby ,Kulnura and Peats Ridge Plateau is prime agricultural land already having It’s aquifer water pillaged by multinational companies such as Rocla NZ and Coca Cola . Would we now have this precious area of the Central Coast polluted from above.? Stop the destruction of this area once and for all and see it for what it is…A rare, special area capable of feeding this region! The plataeu is already a tourist attraction because of it’s food production and scenic drives and eco tourism. This area is not an appropriate site for an aeroport. Mr Maher you have lost your way!

  2. Disgrace congested F3! So wrong Central coast airport. Already have Newcastle and Sydney airports handy. Wake up Central Coasters do you want more traffic casualties, pollution and noise. Instead of promoting tourism and keeping our unique habitat intact. Mr Maher get the message take of your short sighted blinkers!

  3. I dont see how anyone can think this is a good idea, of course individuals that do not live directly in this area might not debate, however this development would not just effect the relative neighbours. Every single location of the Central Coast will be effected.
Not only is this the most absurd initiative, It blatantly shows how two faced the Central Coast council is. The Councils make it so difficult for farmers of this area to move forward in producing crop and meat sources. They debate with strong concerns of pollution to the water catchment and noise pollution. Therefore how can the suggestion that a main stream airport put in the same location meet the criteria and be exhaust of these concerns?
All I have to say is the Central Coast leaders are pathetic and they are going to be fighting a loosing battle to get this application accepted.

  4. Why cant they just make Newcastle bigger so we can at least fly to Perth from there.

  5. Some good points, but gees it would be nice to have an airport a little closer than sydney and newcastle. I fly quite often and it would be an absolute dream to have an airport here. It would help the area grow as well.

I agree about the F3 however, there would need to be a second freeway possibly

  6. I live in Mangrove Mountain, went to school in Kulnura and work at Somersby. I fully support this airport, would be great for the region in my opinion

  7. An airport in the Somersby area would be of enormous benefit not only to the central coast but the whole Sydney region of which it is part. The airport must go somewhere and wherever that is there will be some who disagree for their own vested interests, but everyone considered this is a very logical location. Some may move out and others will move in.I think there would be a lot of support for this location from the whole Sydney region.,an airport must be easy for everyone to use and this would be the case here.
The fact that it would be well above sea level would reduce noise impact on take off compared to starting at sea level as we have with mascot.
It could be perfect, the region would have so much to gain in infrastructure and employment, property values would skyrocket, everyone would want to be there.
