AUSTRALIAN SUPERCROSS ROLLS INTO MAITLAND

They’re used to putting their bodies on the line in the NRL, but today two of the Knights’ big names were doing it in a different arena.
Kurt Gidley and Chris Houston were in Maitland to welcome riders from the Australian Supercross Championship.
Heading into the penultimate round, Wollongong’s Jay Marmont is just two points off the series lead.
“It’s always going to be close racing, three finals, all the points add up, only 7 laps and you get some crazy stuff happening out there.”
The Hunter’s Craig Anderson is always a threat but these days he juggles the roles of team boss and rider.
“I still love it. It’s not the 100 per cent focus, trying to get a team up and running as well as racing is tough, but I’m still out there giving it all.”
Racing gets underway tomorrow at 3.
