New housing for Newcastle women and children fleeing domestic and family violence

Women and children escaping domestic and family violence will have access to a new emergency refuge in Newcastle, by the end of the year.

Housing provider ‘Home in Place’ today turned the first sod on a nine-unit complex, thanks to around $9-million in state government funding.

It’s one of 49 new refuges set to be operational across New South Wales by 2026.
