Novocastrian wheelchair athlete Kurt Fearnley has finished his epic 10 day crawl along the Kokoda Track.
The 28-year-old finished the 96 kilometre, 10 day journey around 9am on Wednesday, telling journalists it’s the toughest thing he’s ever done.
There was a great surprise for Kurt at the end where he was met by his parents Jacqeline and Glenn who’d travelled from the family’s hometown of Carcoar.
Kurt’s effort has been described by Kokoda Track veteran and Kokoda Spirit team leader Wayne Weatherall as the most amazing effort he’s seen in his time on the track.
He’s due home tomorrow evening.
