YOUNG MAN KILLED IN BUCKETTS WAY CRASH

A 22-year-old man has died, and two others flown to hospital after a crash on the Bucketts Way near Taree on Sunday.

Two rescue helicopters were called to Hillville, 10 kilometres west of Taree, around 5pm, after reports a Holden Commodore had left the road and struck a tree.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman on her learner licence, along with a two-year-old child were cut from the wreckage.

The woman’s observer, a 22-year-old man died at the scene.

The woman and baby were flown to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital.

The car was seized by police for further investigation.
