The Newcastle Northstars have moved into third on the Australian Ice Hockey League ladder, thanks to a great opening weekend at home.
Following Saturday’s comeback-win over the Sydney Bears, last night the Northstars hammered the Melbourne Ice.
A Canadian import did the early damage.
Captain Bert Malloy sealed the six-nil victory in the final period.
Newcastle host Perth and Adelaide in another double header next weekend.
