MEREWETHER GIRLS DETERMINED TO CLAIM NATIONAL TITLE IN 2018

Merewether captain Philippa Anderson says the club is determined to win next year’s National Surftag Final, after placing third in the women’s decider over the weekend.
Anderson says the team format is a great distraction from the pressure of the World Qualifying Series.
“It’s totally different to surfing a heat. More nervous I think when you’re surfing for your team. It’s not individual, if you lose it’s all on yourself, but if you do bad here you’ve ruined it all for your club.”
The men’s team, featuring Jackson Baker and Travis Lynch, was knocked out in the quarter finals and ended up 10th overall.
