PROTESTERS MAKE A WORLD-WIDE STAND
Mid north coast environmentalists are calling for a stop to logging, on International Day of the Forests.
A passionate group gathered for a peaceful protest out the front of the Forestry Corporation office today, expressing their concerns over the practice.
“The greenhouse gases are put out from logging. The lack of threatened species now, Australia’s lost the most threatened endangered species in the world.”
They claim almost three quarters of Australia’s koalas have vanished in the last 10 years.
Forestry Corp says more than 100-million trees, including koala friendly ones have been planted across New South Wales over the past five years.
