Swimmers are being urged to be extra vigilant, while visiting the region’s beaches over the next few days.
Strong rips have formed at several popular swimming spots, making for hazardous conditions.
Lifeguards say, although the flags are up, visitors should still be weary when entering the water, and never swim when a beach is unpatrolled.
