Police have charged a man over a fire that tore through a Taree church yesterday morning.
The Destiny Church suffered extensive damage in the early morning blaze, with firefighters unable to save large parts of the building.
Yesterday afternoon, officers arrested a 25 year-old man from Sydney before charging with him malicious damage by fire.
He was also wanted in relation to two outstanding warrants.
He was refused bail, and will appear at Taree Local Court today.
