Tap water at Williamtown RAAF base has been given the all-clear, following reports contractors working there were told NOT to drink from taps, for fear of contamination.
Defence says the move was purely a precaution, after a strong odour was detected.
The matter is NOT linked to contamination from firefighting chemicals.
