A man is due to appear in court today charged with possessing child pornography images.
Acting on information received from the Australian Federal Police, police from Manning Great Lakes Local Area Command executed a search warrant on a home in Taree yesterday afternoon.
Officers seized a large number of computer components from the home which they have started to examine.
Officers allege thousands of images have already been found and have therefore charged the 42-year-old man with six counts of possessing child abuse material.
He was refused bail and will appear in Taree Local Court today.
Further charges are expected to be laid.
