A baby humpback whale has died, after becoming stranded on a Gold Coast beach.
Surfers and a team from Sea World attempted to save the juvenile, after it became beached at Currumbin earlier today, but it died during the rescue operation.
Several adult whales have been spotted in the water nearby.
