12 well-known Novocastrians are preparing to strap on their dancing shoes in the name of charity, for the Stars of Newcastle gala.

“Yeah stepping out from behind the news desk and on to the dance floor, it’s a little bit scary I have to say. But I’m just sucking in the deep breaths thinking it’s all for a good cause, which is the Cancer Council so I’m going to keep that in the back of my mind.”
Each contestant will receive eight weeks of training with an instructor, before the big night at Wests on May 1.
