Police have located human remains inside a home at Kyogle which burned to the ground just before 6pm last Sunday.
The deceased is yet to be formally identified.
The rural property is located on Smiths Creek Road.
Richmond Police District is investigating, as well as officers from the homicide squad and financial crimes unit.
