Boggabri Coal has been fined more than $100, 000 in the state’s Land and Environment Court after breaching mining approval conditions.
The company pled guilty to stockpiling around 90, 000 cubic metres of excavated material from its open cut coal mine at a disused quarry site from May until September in 2012.
Boggabri Coal was fined $82, 500 and ordered to pay court costs of $38, 000.
