Authorities remain on the alert today with two fires, thought to be deliberately lit, contained near Tamworth.
It took seven fire units and 24 firefighters to contain the fire at Moonbi, north of Tamworth.
The other fire at Tarpolly near Manilla was contained.
It comes as much of the state is under a total fire ban.
