Police are appealing for information after an 11-year-old girl was approached by a man at Lake Macquarie yesterday.
The girl was walking along Earl Street, Holmesville, near the intersection of Mary Street, when the driver of a rusty older-model white utility with a yellow tarpaulin pulled up beside her.
The male driver wound down the window and asked the girl to come over to the vehicle.
The girl immediately ran home and told her mother, who notified police.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, with a solid build, chubby face
and brown hair.
