WOMAN TO UNDERGO TREATMENT FOLLOWING HIGH RANGE DRINK DRIVING
A 41-year-old Newcastle woman who returned a blood alcohol reading more than six times the legal limit, will undergo treatment for alcohol abuse.
Kasa Tivoli from Mayfield pleaded guilty to high range drink driving, after blowing 0.303.
It was her second such reading.
Magistrate Ian Cheetham told the court he doesn’t often see female offenders with readings so high, adding that without treatment, she’s a risk to the community.
Tivoli’s sentencing was adjourned to allow her to undergo intense rehabilitation in a residential facility.
