Police have taken a man into custody following an armed robbery at Hungry Jacks in Hexham, near Newcastle at around 9:30 this morning.
Police – including the dog squad and Polair spent several hours on the hunt for the offender – which caused the shutdown of rail-lines into Newcastle for more than an hour.
A 29-year-old Beresfield man was arrested this afternoon and remains in police custody.
