A LOOK BACK AT NBN’S TELETHON EFFORTS

When a child is diagnosed with cancer, their whole family is taken on a terrible rollercoaster ride.

In 1997, the Newcastle community rallied in support of such families, raising $3-million in the NBN Telethon, to build a dedicated children’s cancer service.

Tonight, nearly 15 years on, we look at how the service has grown and gone full circle, with two former patients now caring for others.
