Black smoke could be seen billowing from the entrance to John Hunter Hospital this afternoon, with a motorbike well alight by the side of the road.
Bystanders attempted to extinguish the flames at the scene, near Look Out Road in New Lambton Heights.
It’s not known what caused the fire.
