Man remains in custody after alleged random stabbing

An 83-year-old Newcastle man who died following a separate alleged stabbing at Charlestown yesterday, is being remembered as someone who loved his family – and loved to fish.

Police allege Peter Caldwell was assaulted and robbed… tonight a man remains in custody, charged with murder.
