NSW Taxi Council CEO Nick Abrahim said the passengers were on their way to a wedding when the bus crashed on a “narrow and windy” road.

“They were on the way to a wedding, I do understand there were other vehicles, the wedding party was travelling together,” Abrahim told 9News.com.au.

Abrahim said the manager of the taxi business spoke with the driver at the scene who had some injuries.

“He did seem ok,” Abrahim said.

“We’re just grateful that everybody was able to get out.”

Cessnock Branxton Taxis has been contacted for comment.

Two emergency helicopters have been sent to the scene to take the injured people to hospital.

Nine ambulance vehicles were also called to the scene.

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and Mount View Road remains closed.
