FORMER NEWCASTLE MP APPOINTED TO SHADOW CABINET

In his first full day in the job, New South Wales opposition leader Luke Foley has made the extraordinary move of appointing someone who doesn’t even hold a seat in parliament, to his shadow cabinet.

Labor candidate for Strathfield, Jodi McKay, has been named Shadow Planning Minister, with Mr Foley saying she proved her integrity during the recent ICAC hearings.

Former leader John Robertson and Mr Foley’s potential rival for the seat of Auburn, Barbara Perry, both asked not to be considered for cabinet positions.
