Inverell and Moree recorded the bulk of the Hunter-New England’s new COVID cases overnight.
Another 23 infections were reported in the Inverell LGA, the majority in Tingha.
While there were 17 additional cases in Moree.
Close to 1,000 residents turned out for testing yesterday as the funeral outbreak continues to grow.
There were also 8 cases in Tamworth, and two in Armidale.
These infections for the New England-North West make up nearly a fifth of the state’s COVID cases today.
