An 18 month old boy is in a critical condition after falling into a backyard pool on the New South Wales north coast.
Emergency services were called to a home at Wardell, south of Ballina, at around 12.30 this afternoon, after family pulled the boy from the water
Paramedics treated the toddler, who went into cardiac arrest, before transporting him by ambulance to Lismore Base Hospital.
A short time ago, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter transferred the boy to Lady Cilento Hospital in Brisbane.
