NBN News can reveal Newcastle Council CEO Jeremy Bath will be on extended leave from tomorrow, and won’t return until the end of August.
It means he’ll be absent for about two and a half months, during much of the campaign period for September’s local government election, returning two weeks before polling day.
It follows the ongoing letters-to-the-editor saga… the Newcastle Herald uncovering a series of fresh emails from another pro-council letter writer, Jason Sivo.
It’s been revealed Mr Sivo shares the same Optus mobile phone number of Japanese-based letter writer Scott Neylon, who is also Mr Bath’s best friend.
An investigation cleared Mr Bath last December.
