Eastern Suburbs laid the ground work for victory in the first half in the Shute Shield match against the Hunter Wildfires at Sportsground Number 2 on the weekend, leading 31-10.

The Wildfires fought back in the second half but in the end they were outclassed by Easts with the final score 41-28.
